Alaska Coalition of BIPOC Educators to hold “Back to School Jam” on Labor Day
The Alaska Coalition of BIPOC Educators (ACBE) will host a Back to School Jam at the Mountain View Boys & Girls Club on September 6, 2021, starting at 2:00 pm.

The Alaska Coalition of BIPOC Educators (ACBE) will host a Back to School Jam at the Northway Mall on September 6, 2021, starting at 2:00 pm.
The event is an effort to provide much-needed back-to-school materials to students in Anchorage.
According to Danyelle Kimp, ACBE's President and Co-Founder, "The backpacks and supplies will hopefully provide a bit of equity for our underserved children—our neighborhood kiddos— helping them to feel more confident, ready, and proud to go to school.”
Event partners include NAACP Anchorage, ACLU of Alaska, Mountain View Boys & Girls Club, and many others.
Ahead of the September event, ACBE is accepting donations on their website, the proceeds of which will go towards the purchase of cover backpacks, supply pouches, scissors, erasers, #2 pencils, glue, colored pencils, loose-leaf paper, composition notebooks, folders, pens, highlighters, 3-ring binders, 1-subject notebooks, and planners.
You can find more information on ACBE's event and how to donate in the updated press release below.
