'Alaska Scanner John' Reports Explosive Device Found in Wasilla

The Facebook group 'Alaska Scanner John, which has over sixty thousand members and says it is the largest PRO-Law Enforcement Crime Watch page, shared that Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a "found explosive device near Mile Post 14 of S Knik Goose Bay Road in Wasilla" at approximately 2:23 pm on Saturday, June 20, 2021.
According to the group which shared dispatch text, the device appeared to be a "pipe bomb approximately 12 inches in length" and was reportedly found by an individual walking on the beach.
The post says that the FBI was contacted, and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team (EOD) responded using specialized equipment to render the device inoperable. Once diffused, the remainder of the device was said to be "removed by EOD."
The shared dispatch text says that the Alaska State Troopers did not receive any bomb threats in conjunction with the incident and have no suspects and no leads at this time.
