Alaska Survey Research poll shows high level of support for mask mandate

Alaska Survey Research conducted a poll in the Municipality of Anchorage last week that sought to gauge voter reaction to the emergency order (mask mandate) passed by the Anchorage Assembly. The poll was conducted from 10/22-27 among 458 registered voters with a margin of error of +4.6%.

The poll asked, "Do you strongly support, mildly support, mildly oppose or strongly oppose the recent emergency action by the Assembly mandating the wearing of masks while indoors in public settings within the Municipality?"

According to pollster Ivan Moore, who shared the results on Twitter, 44% said that they strongly support the emergency order with 16% mildly supportive of the measure. That's 60% support.

A combined 38% of those polled said that they opposed the emergency order with only 2% of respondents who said that they weren't sure how they felt about the measure.

I thought the above numbers looked vaguely familiar and had to make sure Moore didn't confuse them with the latest recall Zaletel results where as of November 3 the recall is still failing spectacularly 59.91% to 40.09%.

60-38%, 59-40% — it all looks the same to me!

That's it. That's the post.
