Anchorage "SAVE" America Rally Promises Premium Election Misinformation
The Alaska GOP's favorite Lower 48 carpetbagger, Scott Preseler, is coming to Anchorage. So scary!
Alaska Republican Party Chairwoman Carmela Warfield’s favorite Lower 48 carpetbagger is coming to town! Yes, yes, professional MAGA agitator Scott Presler is bringing his traveling circus of election denial to Anchorage this Sunday, May 3, for a "SAVE America Act" rally.
Pressler will arrive in Alaska fresh off an embarrassing and YUGE defeat in Virginia.
Just over a week ago, Virginia voters went to the polls for a special election regarding a redistricting constitutional amendment. Presler vogued into the state alongside fellow election denier Cleta Mitchell to stop the amendment from passing.
Mitchell, if you did not know, aided the felonious Donald Trump in attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election results and, in 2021, set up an escrow fund to funnel money to companies conducting a pro-Trump "audit" into Arizona's 2020 election results. She now spends her time pushing for election law changes in Georgia that would hinder the prompt reporting of election results and make it easier to delay certification.
Anyway, the amendment passed handily, leaving Presler with nothing to show for his efforts other than a firestorm of hate from Republicans who took to X to point out that his radical fear-mongering drove away moderate voters. Furious MAGA cultists called his rallies a massive distraction that ultimately handed the victory to Democrats (thank yoooouuu)! This is all a very nice way of saying that wherever Presler goes, spectacular failure inevitably follows.
In a Facebook post yesterday, Representative Jamie Allard wrote that she was looking forward to Presler's Alaska visit - presumably because she knows that an anti-Muslim, QAnon-supporting, election-denying carpetbagger with an office-based sex scandal promoting election fraud lies is precisely what the Alaska Republican Party needs to finally discredit their absurd claim that they give one solitary shit about election integrity.
It makes perfect sense that Rep. Allard would appreciate the company of a professional conspiracy theorist. After all, this is a state representative who recently took to the comments section of a right-wing blog to declare that the entirely legal practice of ballot curing is somehow "cheating," and, in 2020, aggressively pushed baseless claims that "corruption via mail in ballots is real" without providing a shred of evidence.
So, there you have it. A proud J6er who helped plan "stop the steal" rallies and was on the Capitol grounds the day of the insurrection - and who previously spoke at an event with virulent white nationalist and Holocaust revisionist Nick Fuentes - is the chosen savior Alaska Republicans are flying in to spread lies about non-existent widespread voter fraud and sell Trump's latest voter suppression scheme.
Phew! It's a lot.
