Anchorage School District to Temporarily Suspend Some Bus Routes
An email sent to families of the Anchorage School District says that the district will temporarily suspend bus service for designated routes.

An email sent to families of the Anchorage School District states that the district will temporarily suspend bus service for designated routes beginning August 30, 2021. The district says that the action is necessary due to a shortage of bus drivers resulting from driver attrition and the impacts of COVID-19 on the transportation staff.
The email states that the administration aspires to resume normal service as soon as possible but is presently unable to determine the duration of this program.
The affected bus routes are inclusive of morning and afternoon bus service. The school district says that as a starting point, this temporary suspension program is limited to general education busing and will not affect special education students or students attending Title 1 schools.
