Arrest Warrant Was Sealed in United States v. Mileur

The arrest warrant for Aaron J. Mileur in the case of United States v. Mileur was sealed on March 9, 2021 by a United States Magistrate Judge seven days in advance of Mr. Mileur's arrest. The court wrote it found "reasonable grounds to believe the disclosure will result in flight from prosecution, destruction of or tampering with evidence, intimidation of potential witnesses, and serious jeopardy to the investigation," and that the United States has established that a compelling governmental interest exists to justify the requested sealing.

It's not clear why special agents with the FBI Anchorage Field Office waited a week to arrest Mr. Mileur for his alleged participation in the attack on Capitol Hill. You can read the order below.
