Dunbar Running Against "Toxic Partisanship" of Save Anchorage

Well, somebody had to say it.
In a mailer sent out to Anchorage voters, the Dunbar campaign called its opponents members of the "far-right" who have "embraced conspiratorial, anti-science rhetoric," and who support the "toxic partisanship of Save Anchorage and Must Read Alaska."
The language used in the mailer is not a political smear but rather an unfiltered truth by a candidate who has experienced first hand the hate and vitriol members of the Save Anchorage group are known for spewing.
This is a group which spreads anti-mask and anti-Covid falsehoods — positions that are clearly reflected in Republican opponents of Mr. Dunbar who refuse to show a simple kindness for their fellow Alaskans by covering their mouths and noses with a mask.
Facebook itself reached out to Save Anchorage directly, warning them that should the continued posting of content to the group be deemed "misinformation, misleading, or missing context," by Facebook fact-checkers, it would place the group at "risk of deletion without warning." The group is now hidden from public view - so much for transparency.
Many of us watched a recent Anchorage Assembly meeting in which members of the Save Anchorage group used their time to testify as an opportunity to spread misinformation about mask wearing and the coronavirus pandemic. According to Must Read Alaska themselves, a clip placed on YouTube showing that testimony — was removed from the service for violating its rules on "misinformation."
We've read the Save Anchorage group very early on backed Dave Bronson and we've frighteningly seen and heard what the Save Anchorage group wants from a mayor through their public testimony and social media posts.
Perhaps worst of all, we know exactly how Mr. Bronson feels about the events that transpired on January 6, 2021 — a perspective that should be of grave concern to us all.
Mr. Dunbar wasn't being inflammatory in his letter — he's merely speaking the well-documented truth. If voting for a candidate to keep the other guy out isn't a good enough reason for you given the current political climate, I understand.
Consider taking a few moments to sift through Mr. Dunbar's policy platform page, where he outlines in detail the plans he has for setting our city on the road to recovery and wellness.
