Dunleavy Moratorium on Evictions (and more) Set to Expire

When Governor Dunleavy said he was issuing another emergency declaration for the state of Alaska, it seems he left a few bits of important information out.

According to the November 16 Disaster-Declaration Fact Sheet for Governor Dunleavy's new disaster declaration, which will go into effect tonight after midnight, the moritorium on evictions is being rescinded as the COVID-19 pandemic rages across the state.

It's not clear if Governor Dunleavy is rescinding the moritorium on evictions because of existing CDC guidance on the issue or how his rescinding of the moritorium may affect evictions moving forward.

Also being rescinded are:

  • Forbearance of loans
  • Moratoriums on foreclosures, residential utility disconnections, and motor vehicle repossession
  • COVID Related Workers Compensation Coverage
  • COVID related PFD absences
  • COVID income assistance not included in determination for public assistance
  • Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Standing Orders

The Governor is, however, allowing  Online Raffles & Prize Drawings because you know, that's super important.

Dunleavy is also making changes related to the travel restrictions he has previously worked to loosen. These changes relate to intrastate and interstate travel and can be found here.
