Assembly Health Policy Committee Meeting Offers Public Testimony Opportunity

Anchorage Health Director Joe Gerace released a video on the Anchorage Health Department Facebook page (under the cloak of darkness) late last evening in what appears to have been an attempt to reassure the public that "the current covid testing in the city of Anchorage really is in a better place than it was two months ago."

But is it, though?

Have you, like Alaska Public Media reporter Kavitha George, sat in your car for hours knitting while waiting for a COVID-19 test?

Are you one of the many who had raced from test location to test location only to conclude that Mayor Bronson sent you on a wild moose chase when the testing site you were looking for didn't exist or was, for reasons unknown, closed when it was supposed to be open?

Well, you're in luck.

Today, the Assembly Health Policy Committee meets at 10:00 a.m., and there's an opportunity for individuals to provide public testimony about their Anchorage COVID-19 testing experience, or lack thereof.

Phone into the Microsoft Teams meeting at: (907) 519-0237 and enter the Conference ID: 405 319 206#

It's just that simple! Oh, and the agenda for the meeting can be found below.
