How do you do, fellow kids? Bronson makes a TikTok

I'm a big fan of the social media platform TikTok and have long said that more Alaskans should use the service to create fun and informative Alaska-centric content others around the world can enjoy. What I wasn't expecting was for Anchorage's far-right mayor to launch his own TikTok account, especially since his political idol, former President Donald Trump, made threats to ban and shut down all U.S. TikTok operations after claiming the app was a national security threat.
Channeling his inner Drake, Mayor Bronson appears to have parted ways with Trump's assertion TikTok is a threat to national security and shared a video to the social media platform, going so far as to post the link to his Facebook page.
You'll definitely want to have that second cup of coffee before watching.
Not seen on Mayor Bronson's TikTok account were any videos of him defending Save Anchorage members' use of holocaust imagery at Assembly meetings or any videos of Save Anchorage member and Eagle River Assembly Person Jamie Allard up in the face of Assembly Chair Suzanne LaFrance. He didn't even post public testimony given by Cheston McCrea—Bronson's pick to sit on the Anchorage Equal Rights Commission before McCrea withdrew his name from consideration after his anti-LGBTQ social media posts surfaced. This is all very disappointing.
Anyway, I'm all for individuals who want to create and share their content—just remember that after Trump supporters violently attacked the U.S. Capitol, TikTok banned videos of certain Trump speeches and the hashtags #QAnon, #Stormthecapital, and #Stopthesteal—so you'll want to be super-careful about what you post to the service especially if you've ever expressed support for Trump's baseless allegations of election fraud in the 2020 presidential election, referred to Muslim's as bloodthirsty barbarians or waited on the Left to call for spoon control after the Sandy Hook school shooting.
Happy creating, Mayor Bronson!
