I Made Alaska State Senator Lora Reinbold a Cake

I made Lora Reinbold a cake as she did for Alaska Airlines employees last year... because I've heard she's had a pretty tough day. Let's face it, spreading misinformation about masks, COVID-19 and vaccines is hungry work. Now, of course, we don't know for sure that Ms. Reinbold enjoys cake; it's just a reasonable deduction based on the totality of her social media posts and public comments.

Governor Dunleavy's letter to Reinbold, while delicious, shouldn't be seen as surprising, especially in light of her sharing COVID-19 and vaccine misinformation on her Facebook pages — pages, I might add, that a certain someone appears to have been diligently scrubbed since Facebook announced they would be permanently banning people from its platform for repeatedly posting COVID-related misinformation.

In his three-page scathing letter to Reinbold, Dunleavy accused Reinbold of using her position in the Legislature to spread wild COVID-19 conspiracy theories and of wasting the administration's time.

Let's face it - he's not wrong.

As an example, Reinbold posted a video championing the "Greater Reset." What's the "Greater Reset" you ask?

In its simplest form, the "Great(er) Reset" points to a secret globalist cabal, headed by Schwab and Bill Gates, that is using the state of shock created by the coronavirus (which the conspiracy theory says is probably itself a "hoax") to turn the world into a high-tech dictatorship that will take away your freedom forever: a green/socialist/Venezuela/Soros/forced vaccine dictatorship if the "Great Reset" is coming from the far right, and a Big Pharma/GMO/biometric implants/5G/robot dog/forced vaccine dictatorship if the "Great Reset" comes from the far left.

Don't believe me? Take a look at the official website for yourself and watch the "replays" of their video content if you can stomach it.

On January 23, 2021, Reinbold posted an "article" on Facebook from LifeSite that claimed that one hour after Biden was inaugurated, WHO had changed its COVID-19 testing criteria. This post is still available but has been marked as "False Information" by Facebook fact-checkers, as have many of Reinbold's posts.

We could spend hours pawing through her Facebook page and highlighting the misinformation she has spread — the same misinformation Governor Dunleavy points out in his letter to her, but I'm hopeful that the public will take note of Dunleavy's own words and see them for what they are in this particular situation — the truth — because it is the truth that will see us through the end of this pandemic and help to save lives.

Governor Dunleavy's letter shouldn't have blindsided Ms. Reinbold — she should have been waiting daily for it to appear in her mailbox. The only element that remains to be seen is whether Senator Reinbold will face censure for spreading troves of misinformation related to masks, COVID-19, and the COVID-19 vaccine.

After all, the Governor did write to Reinbold that she had "abdicated the tenents of your oath as a public servant" and demanded that the "misinformation must end."
