In Bronsonville Fight, Conservatives Afraid of Alaska Club Compromise
Conservative's on the Anchorage Assembly seem to be playing fast and loose with the lives of Anchorage's homeless population as the deadline to vacate the Sullivan Arena approaches.

According to a series of comments made by Assembly Person Jamie Allard in the super-secret very private Save Anchorage group earlier this morning, it appears she has given some insight into why the two conservatives on the Anchorage Assembly sent Mayor Bronson's mass shelter project to, as Ms. Kennedy said, "kind of die a quiet death."
Allard's comments, which can only be found if you're a club member of the Save Anchorage group, appear to infer that had the two conservative members of the Assembly voted for Mayor Bronson's proposal, Anchorage residents would be "buying the Alaska Club."
It appears neither Allard nor Kennedy wanted to 'compromise' on the proposal offered by Assembly Members Dunbar and Zalatel, which would have ultimately restored the Alaska Club purchase. The compromise would have also set aside funding for Mayor Bronson to do design and preparation (including moving the evidence lot) for a smaller facility. Dunbar said yesterday that he hoped the Mayor would work with the Assembly and doesn’t have a “take it or leave it” approach.
Obviously that didn't happen.

The transphobic ultra-conservative Allard, who is backing election conspiracy theorist Kelly Tshibika in her bid for Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski's seat, also seems to have implied that other members of the Anchorage Assembly somehow have financial ties to the Alaska Club and that they would benefit from its purchase.
Allard's insinuation is sure to go over well in the Facebook group whose members who wrongfully accused Progressive members of the Anchorage Assembly and former Anchorage Mayor Ethan Berkowitz of committing fraud and theft when they wanted to utilize CARESAct funds for the purchase of four buildings last year. The building purchases would have been used to help shelter Anchorage's unhoused population.
