Live at 10:00 AM: Alaska Supreme Court Hears Dan Sullivan Ballot Appeal
It's Monday Streaming Madness!
I don't have a lot of time this morning, but wanted to get this out for anyone interested in tuning in.
At 10:00 AM today, the Alaska Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in State of Alaska, Division of Elections v. Daniel J. Sullivan, Jr. The outcome will determine whether Dan Sullivan, a retired teacher from Petersburg, can appear on the August primary ballot alongside Dan "Ohio" Sullivan.
The Alaska Division of Elections disqualified Dan J. Sullivan on June 15, claiming his campaign was a bad-faith effort to confuse voters. Superior Court Judge Thomas Matthews overturned that decision on Friday, ruling that the division cannot impose a subjective good-faith requirement that does not exist in the state constitution or law.
