Municipal Clerk's Office Announces September as "National Voter Registration Month"

A press release issued by the Anchorage Municipal Clerk's Office this morning announced September as National Voter Registration Month and is reminding residents about the importance of voting.

According to the press release, Municipal Clerks and others throughout the country are working to help citizens register to vote throughout the month of September. Anchorage residents can contact the MOA Elections Team on the Voter Hotline at 907-243-VOTE (8683) or at elections@anchorageak.gov to get information about how to register to vote.

The Municipality of Anchorage Elections Team is also reminding residents to register to vote or update their voter registration on or before the Sunday, September 26, deadline to vote in the upcoming October 26, 2021, Special Municipal Election for Assembly District 4.

The Special Municipal Election is being held because a special interest group is seeking to recall Assemblywoman Meg Zaletel from her seat just as they attempted to do in April with Assemblyman Felix Rivera.

More information on registering to vote and how to update your voter registration can be found in the full press release below.
