Samuel Moore Thrashes Zaletel Recall Effort

Samuel Moore, a self-described "progressive Republican" who served as President of the North Star Community Council, ran for Anchorage Assembly and said in 2016 that he couldn't support Donald Trump after having voted for Mitt Romney, John McCain, and George W. Bush—gave Reclaim Midtown a solid Facebook thrashing over the effort to recall Anchorage Assembly member Meg Zaletel.
Moore's comments, made on the Reclaim Midtown Facebook page two days ago, called the effort to recall Zaletel "a total waste of time and money." Moore wrote in his comment that if the group couldn't recall Assembly member Felix Rivera, they "certainly" were not going to be able to recall Zaletel.

Moore also took issue with the decision of recall proponents to spend money on the cost of color photos printed on recall signs which were recently pictured in a Must Read Alaska blog post.

While Moore did write that he wished the recall of Rivera would be "remotely successful," he also called the recall effort a "farce." The effort to recall Rivera was soundly rejected by District 4 voters, suffering an absolutely crushing 56%-42% defeat in April.
Interestingly, Moore may have been a victim of the Right's cancel culture ideology as the Facebook comments made by Moore seem to have completely vanished! It's not clear, however, if Moore deleted his own comments or whether an administrator of the Reclaim Midtown Facebook page deleted them—an act some might see as an attempt to silence a voice of opposition if true.
A group that seeks to defeat the absurd effort to recall Assembly member Meg Zaletel has formed, calling themselves “No On Zaletel Recall." The group is collecting donations to help defeat the recall effort.
