What do Alaskans Think of the Upcoming "Day of Reckoning?"

It didn't take long for Alaskans to catch wind of the upcoming "Day of Reckoning" slated for Saturday, December 19, a day in which an alleged 100+ businesses will openly defy the Mayor of Anchorage and her science-based modified shutdown order by opening fully in what's being described as a "civil act of disobedience."
If the self-labeled Kraken is to be believed, "the small businesses that have decided to fully open on Saturday are not ready to be named because the owners fear being arrested or punished," which might be a good indicator that the people involved in these businesses know what they're doing is wrong. It is also alleged that on Saturday, "several people from Kenai and the Mat-Su are committed to coming to Anchorage to shop in the stores that day and eat at the restaurants, according to the organizer."
Currently, the COVID-19 test positivity in Mat-Su is 8.22%. In Kenai, it's 7.57% - and the last thing Anchorage needs is the Trump Zombie Army of COVID-19 disease spreaders spreading more of the plague in our city. Anchorage has three ICU beds available today, December 15. Most sane, rational, and science-led Alaskans don't seem to be on board with the whole strange and potentially dangerous affair slated for Saturday. Here's what some of them had to say:
- Republicans want law and order for everyone else. For themselves, it's "harassment from the mayor's code enforcers." Giant whiny babies.
- Fuck Must Read Alaska. Don't give this website the benefit of your clicks. Also, fuck anyone that goes along with it; do these morons realize there are four ICU beds left in the city?
- The only thing this will do is drive up infection cases and potentially cause our healthcare system in anchorage to collapse. That being said, if you go to this and get sick enough to require hospitalization then you should waive your right to be treated because your stupidity becomes a burden on the system.
- Other countries have fined individuals for violations. I think this would work for us. Violators will have to pay or get their PFD's garnished. They can hire enforcers too. Would give people jobs.
- They are hypocrites to the max.
- Sounds like I’ll have a list of small local businesses to permanently boycott soon. Hopefully, none of the local businesses I’ve been going out of my way to support are on the list.
You can read the comments for yourself right here where someone even mentions the Save Anchorage group. 4/4 Yikes.
