John Weddleton announces reelection campaign for Anchorage Assembly

In a press release, South Anchorage Assembly member John Weddleton announced today that he would seek reelection to the seat he has held for two terms.
Weddleton has been a self-employed business owner all of his adult life. He says he knows that running successful businesses requires finding a way forward in a constantly changing and chaotic environment.
Given the number of times that vehicles have crashed through the front of a comic book shop he owns, I suspect Weddleton does indeed know something about chaotic environments.

Weddleton is being challenged for his current seat by far-right candidate Randy Sulte.

Sulte is a longtime member of the far-right, shadowy, pro-Bronson Save Anchorage political operation and, like Mayor Bronson, is also a pilot. Loosely translated, this means we can expect Sulte, should he be elected, to fly Anchorage into the ground similarly. Yuck.
On December 6, Sulte shared a post on his campaign Facebook page about proposed minor changes to Title 28. The post was filled with misinformation and falsehoods, fear-mongering about the proposed changes.
Given that he's a member of Save Anchorage and the fact that the same post was shared with the group in December, and in addition to Jamie Allard's endorsement of Sulte, there's nothing new under the sun here and speaks loudly to his candidacy.
Weddleton holds an M.S. in Economics from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, and a B.A. in Political Science from Tulane University. He brings extensive civic experience and a balanced perspective to the Anchorage Assembly.
Weddleton is not a member of Save Anchorage.
