Natasha von Imhof’s "Sham" Campaign Branding

It's a dirty trick!

Natasha von Imhof’s "Sham" Campaign Branding
You can use all the blue you want, but we know you're a Republican through and through.

Hold onto your ballots, Anchorage! After enduring weeks of whirlwind drama of the Dueling Dan Sullivans in the U.S. Senate race, it seems we have a new contender for the title of Most Confusing Campaign Tactic. This time, the drama is Anchorage-specific, and it comes courtesy of Republican mayoral candidate Natasha von Imhof.

Let's rewind a few weeks. The state was thrown into a tizzy when Daniel J. Sullivan Jr., a retired teacher from Petersburg, filed to run as a Republican against incumbent MAGA Senator Dan "Ohio" Sullivan. Senator Sullivan and the National Republican Senatorial Committee got BIG MAD, labeling Petersburg Dan Sullivan a “sham” candidate, accusing him of entering the race solely to confuse voters and rig the election. 😡

But they also whined about his campaign branding, accusing Petersburg Dan Sullivan of intellectual property or trademark theft - or something - because his logo used a blue-and-gold color scheme and the North Star. 😭

Now, look closely at Natasha von Imhof's branding. She is a known Republican running for mayor, yet her name is aggressively swimming in an unmistakable sea of blue. 😳

This does not look at all like the branding of a Republican who is running a Dave Bronson 2.0 campaign!

Using the same logic and rhetoric championed by Republicans throughout the Dan Sullivans debacle, one has to ask: Is Republican mayoral candidate Natasha von Imhof's blue branding a "deliberate attempt" to "confuse Anchorage voters" and "trick" them into believing she’s a progressive or Democrat?

Perhaps it's time for Lieutenant Governor Dahlstrom and Undemocratic Elections Director Beecher to launch another investigation to protect election integrity. If they are truly committed to ensuring candidates don't make a "determined effort" to mislead the public, then von Imhof's blue wave certainly warrants a closer look.

It all feels very 'bad faithy.' And besides, we wouldn't want anyone to be manipulated or tricked, now would we?
