Two opportunities to provide public input this week

Members of the far-right anti-science, pro-covid, election fraud conspiracy theorist affiliated network of social media groups are planning to attend two important meetings being held this week. Community leaders and activists who care about public health and safety and fair and free elections are encouraging Anchorage residents to provide written and telephonic testimony ahead of tonight's Anchorage School Board meeting and Tuesday's meeting of the Anchorage Assembly.

Anchorage School Board:

Individuals who wish to share an opinion about Dr. Bishop’s lifting of the mask mandate on school children may want to contact the Anchorage School Board ahead of Monday’s board meeting.

Emails in support of mandated masking can be sent to the board at SchoolBoard@asdk12.org and to Superintendent Bishop at Bishop_Deena@asdk12.org.

Additionally, individuals can provide written testimony or sign up to provide telephonic testimony at this link.

Anchorage Assembly:

The next meeting of the Anchorage Assembly will be held 5 pm Tuesday, December 21 and is shaping up to be a forum where members associated with the Save Anchorage political operation are expected to further share more baseless allegations of widespread election fraud in a coordinated effort to oppose minor proposed changes to Title 28 that would make a limited number of changes to assist voters and make election processing more efficient.

Those who wish to avoid far-right members of the public who are expected to attend Tuesday’s meeting can provide written or phone testimony to the Anchorage Assembly at this link.
