Read the Scathing Letter FNSBSD Superintendent Dr. Luke Meinert Sent to Deena Bishop

It's wild that a school superintendent has to explain stuff to the DEED commissioner.

Read the Scathing Letter FNSBSD Superintendent Dr. Luke Meinert Sent to Deena Bishop
DEED Commissioner Deena Bishop just got taken out to the woodshed…again.

Oh boy. Things are really heating up in Fairbanks after FNSBSD Superintendent Dr. Luke Meinert dropped a fiery four-page reality check yesterday on DEED Commissioner Deena Bishop.

You might recall that Dunleavy sycophant Bishop recently threatened to illegally withhold public school funding from the entire school district if they refused to immediately open the Pearl Creek charter school.

Here's a short excerpt from Meinert's letter:

Judge Schwalm has already determined that the law does not support ordering that the proposed Pearl Creek STEAM Charter School be opened this year. Judge Schwalm also made clear in his statements from the bench at Tuesday's hearing that the APC was not at any point in 2025 a charter school with a right of first refusal under AS 14.03.255(d). The evidence at Tuesday's hearing was clear in establishing that 700 Auburn is property of the Fairbanks North Star Borough and not a school facility. There is no legal basis for the demand in your June 10 letter that the District lease that property to the APC. Whether or not to issue a lease for 700 Auburn is a decision to be made by the Borough Assembly, not the District.
I believe "smackdown" is the word you're looking for.

You know what, I am not even gonna take the time to write this one out. Let's let the fire and facts speak for themselves. My favorite bit, however, is when Meinert says the district will not be bullied into complying with Bishop's unlawful demands.
